Ed Aims Higher
Year 10 students from West London schools were invited to attend a 3-day course at the London College of Music & Media.
The students worked as a team for a Multi-Media Production Company set-up specifically for the project and produced a short documentary called ‘Ed Aims Higher’.
Working with University students and staff, the Production Company had departments covering film, radio, advertising, music, online and events. Each day there was a company meeting where all departments gave an update of their progress and plans to the “Company Directors and Executives” (University Staff).
The aim of the project was:
- To give students an insight into the Multi-Media Industry. To develop leadership, negotiation, time management and team working skills.
- To enable students to increase their ICT skills to support the process of each project.
- To develop students’ understanding of life at University as well as the first steps of life as a student.
At the end of the course the students’ work was shown in the form of a premiere and award ceremony, to which parents and school staff were invited.
