Music students featured in the show will have undertaken either a three-year BMus or be pursuing a postgraduate award. All music courses at LCMM strongly emphasise the interaction of the academic and the practical, reflecting a determination to deliver courses which are challenging, stimulating and at the cutting edge of educational excellence. LCMM is proud to set the pace and standards for several key areas of the music industry, while still reacting creatively and sensitively to the needs of its students.
The BMus Performance/Composition course provides many opportunities to engage in a wide range of practical and academic studies. These include traditional areas of musicology such as 19th and 20th century music studies, alongside groundbreaking courses in performance studies, world music studies, jazz and popular music. The course is deliberately vocational, with a variety of practical modules including music management, music technology and music education. Postgraduate courses engage with more specialised and advanced aspects of composition or performance including concert, commercial and film/TV/video music.
